is either a domestic flight or the overnight sleeper train, depending on how much of a hurry you&#8217;re in and your travel style. Either way, to reach the imperial city from Hanoi you&#8217;ll cover the roughly 670 km separating the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_fastest_option_fly_from_hanoi_to_hue\"><\/span>The fastest option: fly from Hanoi to Hue<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you prioritize time and comfort over the experience, the fastest way to reach Hue is a <strong>Hanoi\u2013Hue domestic flight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There are several direct flights daily from Noi Bai international airport<\/strong> to Phu Bai airport in Hue, taking just over an hour \u2014 so counting airport transfers and security, you&#8217;ll be in Hue in about 4 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The route is served by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vietnamairlines.com\/ph\/en\/home\">Vietnam Airlines<\/a> and, to a lesser extent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vietjetair.com\/\">Vietjet<\/a>; one-way tickets usually run between 1 and 2 million VND (~US$38\u201377).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hue&#8217;s airport is 15 km from the center, so once you land it&#8217;s an easy taxi ride into the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alternative option: fly to Da Nang<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the flights to Hue don&#8217;t fit your dates or schedule, <strong>you can always fly to <a href=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/en\/danang\/\">Da Nang<\/a><\/strong>, central Vietnam&#8217;s main city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Da Nang and Hue are just over 100 km apart, so once you arrive you can take a taxi, a bus or the train to Hue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hue-tumbas.webp\" alt=\"hue tumbas imperiales\" class=\"wp-image-3831\" srcset=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hue-tumbas.webp 1024w, https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hue-tumbas-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/hue-tumbas-768x432.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"night_train_from_hanoi_to_hue_the_most_rewarding_option\"><\/span>Night train from Hanoi to Hue, the most rewarding option<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We say most rewarding because it&#8217;s certainly not the shortest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking the <strong>train from Hanoi to Hue<\/strong> \u2014 especially late in the day to make use of the night \u2014 gives you both savings and a genuinely unique experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Reunification Railway runs <strong>several trains a day from Hanoi to Hue<\/strong>, letting you discover what riding a Vietnamese sleeper train is like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There are sleeper carriages with 2, 4 or 6 beds<\/strong>, so you can pick more or less company depending on your priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the <strong>train&#8217;s advantages<\/strong>: you generally rest well, you can get up and stretch your legs, and there&#8217;s a caf\u00e9 carriage. On the downside, it&#8217;s not the fastest option, taking 12 to 13 hours to reach Hue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s <strong>an excellent choice if you use the night for the journey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 12 to 13 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Price<\/strong>: From 920,000 VND (~US$35) in 6-berth cabins, 1,200,000 VND for 4-berth cabins, and a bit more for private carriages. As always, of all the bus options we recommend the Cabin Bus type, with individual sleeping compartments offering good space and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If comfort isn&#8217;t a concern, the traditional sleeper bus with standard bunks is the cheapest option of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 11 to 13 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Price<\/strong>: From 400,000 VND (~US$15) for the standard sleeper and around 700,000\u2013900,000 VND for the Cabin Bus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can check <a href=\"https:\/\/12go.asia\/en\/travel\/Hanoi\/Hue\/?z=4018868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">prices and timetables here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Private car or taxi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;d rather not depend on timetables, you can book a <strong>private transfer from Hanoi to Hue<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They&#8217;ll pick you up at your hotel at the time of your choosing, and the trip drops to about 9\u201310 hours, with stops to your taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Price<\/strong>: from 8,000,000 VND (~US$310) per vehicle (4 seats).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how_to_get_from_ninh_binh_to_hue\"><\/span>How to get from Ninh Binh to Hue<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re in Ninh Binh or Tam Coc, the options for traveling from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/en\/ninh-binh\/\">Ninh Binh<\/a> to Hue<\/strong> are very similar to those from Hanoi, with a few nuances we explain here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_best_way_from_ninh_binh_to_hue_take_the_train\"><\/span>The best way from Ninh Binh to Hue: take the train<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The train remains <strong>our favorite option for this leg<\/strong>. The trains departing from Hanoi stop in Ninh Binh about two hours into the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the duration is slightly shorter than boarding in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Trains depart from Ninh Binh station<\/strong>, so if you&#8217;re staying in <a href=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/en\/ninh-binh\/tam-coc\/\">Tam Coc<\/a>, you&#8217;ll need to get to Ninh Binh (about 10 km) to catch it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/12go.asia\/en\/travel\/Ninh-Binh\/Hue\/?z=4018868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Prices and timetables here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 9 to 11 hours<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Price<\/strong>: From 720,000 VND (~US$28) in 6-berth cabins, 1,000,000 VND for 4-berth cabins, and a bit more for private carriages.
