We left at dusk and, after several stops in the middle of the night, reached the village at dawn. Other times we&#8217;ve set off from Ninh Binh, about two hours south of the capital, which shortens the trip a little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you prefer <strong>the train<\/strong>, you&#8217;ll travel through the night to Dong Hoi and connect with a taxi on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also choose to <strong>fly to Dong Hoi<\/strong> and spare yourself the winding roads; the flight takes barely an hour, but between airports and transfers, the time saved isn&#8217;t as big as it seems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Hue the trip is much shorter<\/strong>. You can choose between <strong>four- and six-berth compartments<\/strong>. Here are the most common options, which are essentially the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Hoi An<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Especially recommended if you&#8217;re in Hoi An, since the small town has no other transport options. The trip from Hoi An to Phong Nha takes around 7.5 hours. Estuve tres d\u00edas y me fui convencido de que aquello no ten\u00eda mucho que ofrecerme. Unos meses despu\u00e9s decid\u00ed volver para darle una segunda oportunidad al pa\u00eds, por pura intuici\u00f3n. Result\u00f3 ser una de las mejores decisiones de viaje que he tomado, lo cual demuestra que a veces conviene desconfiar de las primeras impresiones. Desde entonces he vuelto cada a\u00f1o, hasta convertir Vietnam actualmente en uno de mis lugares principales de residencia, donde paso buena parte del a\u00f1o instalado en Ho Chi Minh City, y desde donde aprovecho para seguir recorriendo el pa\u00eds por dentro, con m\u00e1s calma y bastante menos fiebre.
