For several years, religious services were not permitted by the Vietnamese government, until they <strong>finally resumed in 1990<\/strong>, restoring the cathedral to its original role as a place of worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The busiest day of the year is <strong>March 19<\/strong>, the feast day of <strong>St. Joseph<\/strong>, the cathedral&#8217;s patron saint. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"prices_and_opening_hours_of_hanois_cathedral\"><\/span>Prices and opening hours of Hanoi&#8217;s cathedral<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">St. Joseph&#8217;s Cathedral sits very close to <a href=\"https:\/\/viajarvietnam.com\/en\/hanoi\/hoan-kiem-lake\/\">Hoan Kiem<\/a> lake, from which you can reach it in minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Entry is free<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the church is through one of the side doors, not the main entrance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mass times: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Weekdays<\/strong>: 5:30 am, 6:30 pm. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Saturdays<\/strong>: 5:30 am, 6:00 pm. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sundays:<\/strong> 5:00, 7:00, 8:30 and 10:00 am; 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 pm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More information <a href=\"https:\/\/giaoxuchinhtoahanoi.org\/CT\/\">on its website.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2714\ufe0f Information reviewed and last updated on January 7, 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One thing you don&#8217;t expect to find in the middle of a city like Hanoi is a European-style cathedral.
