If you look down from the top, you&#8217;ll spot two semicircular lakes likened to the dragon&#8217;s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This place is known for symbolically marking the country&#8217;s northernmost point,<\/strong> although in reality the true northernmost point lies a few kilometers farther on, right at the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flag tower stands some <strong>33 m tall<\/strong>, and its flag is said to measure a whopping 54 square meters \u2014 representing the country&#8217;s 54 ethnic groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the base of the flag tower there&#8217;s a small museum displaying tools, traditional dress and products from Ha Giang province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how_to_get_to_the_lung_cu_flag_tower\"><\/span>How to get to the Lung Cu Flag Tower<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lung Cu sits roughly 20 km from Dong Van and 170 km from Ha Giang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best \u2014 and practically only \u2014 way to get here is as <strong>a short detour during the Ha Giang Loop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alternatively, you can reach Dong Van by local bus and hire a driver or taxi to take you to the tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"lung_cu_flag_tower_hours_and_price\"><\/span>Lung Cu flag tower: hours and price<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entry costs 40,000 VND (~US$1.50).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marking Vietnam&#8217;s sovereignty over the country&#8217;s northernmost territory stands the famous Lung Cu Flag Tower, in Ha Giang province, practically on the border between China and Vietnam.
