Da Lat Flower Garden: 300 species in the city of flowers

If there’s one thing Da Lat is known for, it’s the sheer quantity and variety of flowers that grow here. Blessed with an eternally spring-like climate, it’s the ideal place for gardens — which is why it’s known as the city of love and the city of flowers, drawing thousands of young Vietnamese every year with its color and beauty.

Although you can spot flowers on almost any corner in Da Lat, one of the main places to see them is the Flower Garden, where you’ll fall in love with the enormous variety and color of the more than 300 species growing here.

Among the types of flowers and species on show are a garden of giant cacti, fields of orchids, and other sections brimming with roses, mimosas and hydrangeas.

While many of the species are on display year-round, one of the best times to visit Da Lat’s flower gardens is winter and spring.

Vietnam as a second home since 2019

My relationship with Vietnam got off on the wrong foot in 2019, after catching dengue fever in Cambodia — but a second chance turned that indifference into absolute passion. Today I live in Ho Chi Minh City, exploring the country with the calm and depth I lacked on that first visit.

From my base in Vietnam, I use my on-the-ground experience to help other travelers discover the country through this blog, proving that second chances — and well-planned trips — can change your life.

That same drive to share the world also led me to found Aventúrate a Viajar, a travel agency where I design and coordinate small group trips across Vietnam and many other countries.
