The Maze Bar is a bar, yes — but certainly not an ordinary one. The entire space is designed as a labyrinth, with corridors, staircases and rooms connecting to one another, which makes spending time here part of the plan itself.
You can set out to explore until you reach the very top, or simply sit down for a drink in any of its many corners. Each space is different from the last, though they all share that surreal air that makes having a beer here a completely different experience.
It’s without doubt one of the most curious and entertaining places we’ve visited in Vietnam — and even in Southeast Asia. And although it might seem easy to get lost for a while, don’t worry: you’ll always end up finding the way out.
The usual routine on arriving at the Maze Bar is to order a drink and start exploring the labyrinth with no fixed route, trying to find your way to the top. Waiting for you up there is an open-air terrace with great views over Da Lat.
The best approach is to just go with it: it’s easy to end up somewhere different every time. The decor is astonishing, with themed murals in almost every corner, and the care poured into each detail shows. It does get easier to find your bearings over time, but that first visit is genuinely fun and unlike anywhere else.
